now that I missed playing IOn with you guys and the possibility of me stayin in PA till the next ION event looks slim, but you know what I 'll definately put this on my things to do list. I dunno when I'm leaving PA yet, but I do know that I'll be playing a tad bit more, after AUG of course hahaha.

Now which to play with, my A5B5 or my t68 hmmm.....

so chris is totally right about having two MERCS teams...hopefully then don't put two of us together in the first round that would be stupid i agree.

So we just need to find two ppl to commit. And I think the going in all together on paint would be a good idea....if we do both get eliminated in the first round always paint for WPP then or we could find someone who knows where some good wooded areas are and have our own fun.

Dave what are your thoughts? (Almost afraid to ask Wink Wink Wink joking of course)

Oh man I would LOVE to give this one a go - but I just don't think it's meant to be.  I got word today that my debit card number was stolen and the long and the short of it is - I'm out a little over a thousand dollars in fraudulent charges that I may or may not get back (pending investigation)..   So yeah - between medical bills, ION, this fraud business and a short vacation with the kids in August - my fun money for this summer is pretty much gone.  Smiley

I will however  make it out to cheer everyone on for the day!

Anyone who is on the fence on this event should give it a shot, everyone I've talked to who has participated in the last two of these events has had an absolute blast!

My mom had her number stole a few years ago. It's not fun at all. Hope you get all your money back. Got any idea how your number was stolen?

Tell you what Giggles - you bring the pom-poms and I'll shake 'em Smiley

No idea on how that came down, at least not yet.  Just crossing my fingers that the credits will start piling up in my checking account.

I WILL be there though, for sure - to cheer on the MERC teams.

Stoltz I'm so getting pom-pom nows and I'll find ones that go with our colors of our jersey.

BTW I dont have a jersey yet (need to put in an order to do so) do the 5 on 5 teams need to all be in the same uniform?

No, they do not have to be the same but is kind of recommended because they look freaking awesome in tournaments. So the answer is if you don't have one, where what you got. Tongue

Due to unforeseen changes I'll be around for this event either to play or just to help out. Can't commit to play till I find out paint prices and how many teams this will be capped at.  There is no sense in me playing if I can only afford to buy 3-4 cases with a chance to play over 10 games. I'm just assuming this will turn into a normal speedball tourney where the paint is flying.

I am definatly in, I might be playing with my T68 so I am not worried about ammo. But I'll bring my A5B5 for back up. So if there is an open slot, hit me up yo!

Take no offense towards this.

That's what I'm worried about, to many guys are gonna be going for mil-sim when the name of this game is speed and how fast you can walk a trigger. That's another reason why I'm reluctant to play, just no reason at all to put out money for this and the team not being competitive. Yes I completely understand that we all do this for fun but seriously for me if I'm investing this kind of money I wanna win it all (that's fun for me). This isn't recball but an actual competition and trust me the majority of other teams will be looking at it this way. Again Eric, don't think I'm just calling out your post. I just wanted to make it clear that there is almost zero reason to play if someone doesn't know how to walk a trigger and be able to buy multiple cases of paint.

Agreed, we all got here to have low-pressure fun playing recball with good people, but this is a horse of a different color.  Personally, this is going to blow my paintball budget for quite some time and I want to make sure it's a good investment. (I'll still show up at the field and hang out on Mercs days though!  I can serve juice and cookies!)

Those of us that threw our hats in for this event ALL have a place in the event, but we need to be clear what the intent is.  To win?  To play in their first tournament and get some experience?  To just have fun playing paintball in a new format?

All these intentions are valid, but considering the money at stake here I believe we owe it to each other to be honest about our personal goal.

Me?  This is my first tournament but believe me, I'm in it to win it, 100%

Sparky I hope that you will join us, but if you don't I can understand.  You have great skills that could help us out a lot.

I will be personally buying a couple of extra cases to share.  I still like the idea of trowing in $100 each and buying the paint together so not to have to worry about how much your shooting.

hiroitchi if you play in the tournament I suggest using your a5.  There is a lot to be said about putting paint down the field.  This will be too fast paced for One shot kills.  But during the open play later you can tear'm all up.

Chris and I created this team around getting a core group of guys together to enter this War in the Woods 5v5 tournament and we have gathered many great players.  I will be SPONSORING Team 1.  I've got the entry fee.  I hope that we can Field yet another team, but that one will be on the individuals to set up.  I would like to see as many MERCS come out as possible.  That way if someone ends up not making it we can still Field a team, and after we can play in the open play and use up whatever paint we have left.  I would love to show the Speedball guys that there is more to playing in the woods than SLINGING PAINT!  Kiss

SO who is with me?
