Again Eric, don't think I'm just calling out your post. I just wanted to make it clear that there is almost zero reason to play if someone doesn't know how to walk a trigger and be able to buy multiple cases of paint.

 Its cool really, i'm used to getting called out hahaha! I'll be there thatr's for sure, but I'd really like to get some experiance that's for sure.

hiroitchi if you play in the tournament I suggest using your a5.  There is a lot to be said about putting paint down the field.  This will be too fast paced for One shot kills.  But during the open play later you can tear'm all up. ...

In order to illustrate what Sparky is saying, and if my math is correct and if my understanding of how these tournaments are run is correct (everybody plays everybody twice in the first round):

If ten teams enter you will play twenty games.  Even if you use only 500 paintballs in each of those twenty games you will spend $250.00 on paint IN THE FIRST ROUND ALONE.

Is Chris' spreadsheet right?? If so I might have to rethink playing. I start clinicals this fall and the bill isn't cheap.

This will be my first tournament and I want to do this. I will try my hardest to make money and amounts of paintballs needed work so I can play.

Dave wat do you mean you will sponsor team 1? And will I be able to use the marker?

If I can't play I will be there to hangout with everyone and meet you all.

Chris your cost breakdown is accurate by my numbers, I was gonna do something similar to help out those that were gonna play.

I will be personally buying a couple of extra cases to share.  I still like the idea of trowing in $100 each and buying the paint together so not to have to worry about how much your shooting.

If you can be there to hang out and meet up that would be GREAT.  Something tells me I'm going to need those nursing skills after all those games.  Stretcher, wheelchair, respirator, IV drip, adrenaline shots to the heart, the whole nine yards.

Dave your the man. Will I be able to use the marker I used last time? And throwing in your share of balls would equal what? Just trying to figure out how much I need to budget and bring.

At this time I will be playing. Just so we can get a count of who all is still planning on playing after the paint cost have been mentioned?

My nursing skills are limited to basic stuff but I can handle the blood but not the needle...need to get over that fear.

Depending on how may teams show up and how much paint it takes to eliminate them can be very big variables.  Bare minimum I would say at least two cases of paint plus more if you make it to the Finals.  So at $50 a case you would need $100 to buy in.  We are going to pool our paint, so that way if you stay in the game and everone else is eliminated you wont be afraid to use what paint you got to try and keep the other team from hanging the flag.

I would suggest bringing more than the $100, because we may end up using more paint, especially if there are the max of 20 teams there.  It could easily double to $200 buy in if we have that many teams. 

We don't want to scare anyone off, we just want to make sure you are prepared that's all.

Yes you could use the 98, but even better I have an SFT (PINK) Shocker you could use.  But you would have to ask the wife to use that

There is nothing wrong with being the Team MERCS BB "Budget Busters"
But realistically to try and win against the speed ball teams that are slinging paint as their only form of skill you sometimes need to sling it back. I think a RANGER team is awesome, and think of the props you could get for winning.

pblover96- if you don't have the cash thats cool, you can still come out to help out.  After you can play in the open play.
