The day had its ups and downs, that's for sure, but considering the sheer volume of people that showed (I think it was 60+) today was overall a good experience. All those targets totally changed the dynamic that I've gotten used to and I was quite often competing with my teammates for cover.
I haven't had a big rec-ball battle at Wannaplay in almost two years, I forgot what it's like playing two fields at a time and being in fear of other players on my own team. A funny story about that...
There had been so much accidental team-killing throughout the day that during the last match I was getting fire from that back left so I started yelling at my teammates to stop shooting at me... as it turns out they weren't my teammates at all.
But they stopped shooting anyway! Woo hoo!
I had no idea I was so convincing, I should have tried that at War in the Woods III.
I'm proud to say that in spite of the playing-on and poor sportsmanship (remember, they're JUST words, and that's coming from the guy that got cursed at) I didn't see any of the MERCS get bent out of shape or contribute to the problems by participating in said behaviors. So thank you guys, I play with you every month to play good, fair paintball, but I ENJOY it, win OR lose, because we act like decent human beings. We play our best, honestly and fairly.
And best of all? We had, what, 13+ people there with/for the MERCS? Holy crap, that just blows my mind!
Best play of the day goes to Andrew for his moves with the Airow Gun. If I hadn't been there and seen it myself I would not believe someone could draw a bow through that much fire, stand up, aim, and pop someone so accurately. Nice job, dude.
OK, enough for now, I have to go see if my neighbor (who came along today for his first paintball experience) can still walk. His wife is going to be mad at me tommorow when he can't even get out of bed.

PS - Yes, my marker and I BOTH survived falling flat on my face TWICE today.

I promise to stay away from that d@mn ditch from now on, I think being swallowed by it three times should teach me a lesson, don't you?
LATER.
