Hi, my name is Chris, I live in Mount Wolf, PA, which is just north of York, and I'm looking for a group of not-so-serious woodsball players to get together with once or twice a month.

Teamwork and tactics = good, pouting and throwing a fit when you lose = bad.
I play to have fun, not to compete and get worked up over who wins or loses.
With that said, when I play I do everything I can do to win.  ;-)
I'm not opposed to bunker fields like Tombstone Village but playing in the woods is my favorite, and scenarios aren't out of the question once or twice a year.

I'm 34 years old, been playing for about five years now, mostly at Wannaplay and out in the woods, that's me on the left in the picture below.  I'm 6' 2" so small bunkers are NOT my friend.  I use an Ion with some ups but also have a pistol and PCS US5. (The US5 is from the big Wannaplay game last year, RAWK!)

I don't move too fast but my aim is not bad if I do say so myself.  I'm punctual and friendly, not pushy unless pushed first, and am looking for people with a similar attitude.  I have a family, bills, and a full time job so I won't be traveling more than 100 miles or paying $100.00 for a case of paint.

I plan to get out to Wannaplay with some friends in August so that would be a good time to meet if anyone is interested.  Respond here, PM , email, or look for me at the field, I'm the guy whose hopper has a giant c*ck Grin.  I can be found on Special Ops by the name I used here, inthedeadbox, and I try to keep my profile up to date so if you want to see what I'm doing take a look-see.

I'm going to shoot for August 29th or 30th, depends on what works out for my friends.

Where are you coming from?  I'm not stalking you, Grin just trying to see if we have other opportunities that don't require long distance driving...

Not that I'd EVER go anywhere but Wannaplay. Wink

Sunday the 30th sounds good to me.
I live in Newport,PA about 45 min away from Wannaplay.  1/2 hr from Harrisburg.  I have traveled as far as EMR New Milford, PA about 200 miles north for their Castle Conquest.  (Which by the way is coming up at the end of Sept.  So if anyone is interested let me know.)
I "HAVE (GUN) MARKER WILL TRAVEL"
It would be nice to get a group together to play locally and to travel to scenarios.
We could make a New rec. team.

Sunday the 30th it is then, I usually try to show up 9:30 to 10:00am.  I drive a Red Ford Ranger FX4 with a grey cap, I usually have a table and and awning set up if it's going to be a sunny day.

Nice jersey, I'll keep my eyes peeled for it.  Let me know how that www.wannaplaypaintball.com sponsorship drive turns out. Cheesy

Speaking of playing locally...  my buddies have a great spot picked out to play woodsball but we need a shallow-bottomed bass boat to get there.  It's amazing to what lengths we must go to play outlaw paintball and not get hassled by "The Man".  Wink

This is not for me but is pretty neat:

It's nice to see how woodsball has organized.

Hey I am sending a reply to inthedeadbox about woodsball. I am open the 30th if you are looking for more guys to play with. I am only 15 but have been playing for 2 years now ,so i hope you wouldn't be opposed to somebody this young. I shot an invert mini and have enough pods if you need a back i can burn lanes and do whatever you need. I am 6 2 but being 15 i can still move well and i have no problem with going to the front and getting into smallers bunkers. In my eyes i would do better up in front ,but i would do whatever is fitting to you guys. Also i live in Bendersville a town about 10 minutes north of Gettysburg so Wannaplay is a convinient 15 minutes ,but only 15 and like you said i don't plan on running over 100 miles. If you are or are not interested can you post an answer so I know if i should show up.

Holy crap! Shocked A teenager up at 7:09am during summer break!  We don't see my 15 year old until around dinner time.  Roll Eyes Kudos to you, dude; unless you're still up from the night before...  Grin

Hey the more the merrier, I'll be there on the 30th looking for you.  I have no problem playing with responsible young people, Tyler, I apologize if I gave you that impression.  Heck, I was fifteen once myself.

Any good places to play between your place and York?  Have any favorite spots besides Wannaplay?

Hey guys,
I haven't been out to Wanna Play since last year the day of the scenario that got cancelled due to lack of players. We still had a great time, and I also attended the Ring World event which was fun. Injury forced me out of the sport later on that summer and I'm looking to make a comeback.

I own a Tippmann X-7 but i haven't serviced it for a year. Barring any problems with my gear (and if my girlfriend allows! haha), I will try to make it out on August 30 to play also. I'll be the guy coming alone in a silver Hyundai Elantra hatchback.

24 years old, semi-athletic but out of shape!! And I live in Mechanicsburg PA (10 mins from Wanna Play)  See u then

I just found this forum and thought I would post.  I am a woodsball player, and have been for the last 19 years.  I live in Middletown (near Harrisburg) and have yet to play at Wanna Play.  I usually drive to Taneytown.  However, I have swung through the field at Wanna Play but didn't see many woodsball players, just a lot of speedball guys.  Does Wanna Play get a good amount of woodsball players, enough to warrant a trip?  If so, which day is better, Saturday or Sunday?  I play walk-on because personal commitments make it nearly impossible to devote to a team.  I saw the posting for the game being played on August 30, but can't make it bacause I am heading to EMR that weekend; I travel a lot for good paintball, such as then annual trek to the poconos for Skirmish's Invasion of Normandy.  I'd really like to hear your thoughts and hope that it all works out for some good woodsball.  Feel free to contact me at gsorce@yahoo.com for anything regarding paintball.

Holy crap there's some life in this forum after all!

Injury forced me out of the sport later on that summer and I'm looking to make a comeback.

That sucks, what did you do?  I herniated a disc and had surgery on May first, I'm just now getting back into playing again.  Good luck!

Well grease that sucker up! The marker, not your girlfriend.  Well, unless she's into that. Wink  Then I'll watch for your car AND your girlfriend.  Grin

I haven't noticed one day or the other to be consistently better for woodsball, maybe one of the refs or BOSS could give you a better answer.  If I had to guess I'd say watch for local community goings-on like the York Fair, Farm Show, Kipona Festival, anything at Riverfront Park, or national holidays and rule those weekends out.

I've seen days where fifty woodsballers showed up before noon.  One time a couple years ago fifty of us took on the Wannaplay speedball team, we got DESTROYED, Tongue but it was fun to charge the hill.

What is "EMR"?  Huh

gsorce - If you stopped by the field you may have only seen the Speedball fields and players. Our rec-ball fields are on the other side of the hollow and you cannot see them from the staging area. Sat and Sundays are fairly balanced this time of year. We see on average 50-75 rec players a day.
Please come out and give us a try, I feel you will not be disappointed......Thanks, BOSS

I stopped by on Saturday, August 15th.  There was a game in the woods going on when I arrived and waited in the staging area for almost an hour until the refs and players came out of the woods.  No one told me that I could go down to where the games were going on to join in, and I almost left for Taneytown because I hate standing around.  But I am glad that I did not leave because once I got into a game I had a good time.  A concern I had was the same I have had at many fields, and that is no enforcement of chrono rules; I have been playing long enough to notice blatant paintball speeds far surpassing the mandated 280 fps.  I also wondered why the refs were carrying and discharging markers during the games.  The head ref did a very good job at organizing the games and explaining the rules.  I'd rate my overall experience at the field at an 8.2, and I will probably play at the field again sometime.
