Common Paintball Terms

Listening to two experienced players talk, or even reading over our site can be a little confusing if you’re new to the sport. Below we’ve defined some common terms that should be of assistance in helping you understand the lingo of Paintball.

Walk-On

Any Paintball player that is not with a private group.

Field Fee

This is what a player with his “own” paintball equipment pays to participate (A Rental Player does NOT pay a separate field fee, it’s covered in their rental package).

Cases

Paintballs are sold in boxes of 2000, commonly referred to as a “case”.

BYOP

Bring Your Own Paintballs.

FPO

Field Paint Only. Events marked as FPO require you to purchase your paint for that event at the field, on the day of the event.

Ammo Belt

A belt pack that goes around your waist and carries 2 tubes which hold an additional 200 paintballs for reloading during games.
